Nikki 2 bbl - Round Sight Glass Float Cover |
|
This carby was fitted to an absolute stack of Nissan vehicles to huge to list them all. The carburettor kit used is a Fuelmiser NK566B, so if you use that kit, this is a copy of the instructions, interesting to note that the instructions indicate that this is a Hitachi/Nikki carby. When doing the float level setting, rather than flip the carby top over like the drawing below, I generally only lean the cover at 45 deg. so the ball on the needle & seat does not compress and set the float so the top surface of the float is parallel to the gasket surface of the cover. The front float bowl cover is always a problem due to over-tightening of the three screws. If the body of the carb is deformed at the three screw locations, you may need to straighten them up a little bit. This can be done with some heat while the body is laying on a flat plate using a press. Be careful not to break the tangs off and in most cases you might not need to straighten it perfectly to get the plate and cover back on. |

VERY IMPORTANT: You will notice that the round glass fuel bowl plate is offset. The offset goes up ie. higher not lower. If you install it lower it will look like the float level is too high. Correct level is when the fuel level can be seen around the centre dot in the glass. |
